Don’t forget to send in your donation for the H. B. Sugg PTA Playground Project. Just a reminder, the playground system currently located at the rear of the school belongs to the Pre-K program that is housed at H. B. Sugg Elementary School. The K-2 students do not have a playground system of their own. Let’s work together to help our kids to have fun while staying healthy and active!

September 2007 News
Pictured at left is Mrs. Stokes, with her husband Kyle, as he assists with a lesson on sound.
The students in Mrs. Stokes, Mrs. Burton, and Mrs. Hardy’s second-grade classes had the opportunity to listen and “feel” the vibrations in musical instruments as a part of their “Sound Study” unit in Science. Instruments experienced were the acoustic guitar, electric guitar, ukulele, and banjo. After the demonstration, students were given the chance to have a hands-on exercise with the instruments. The students were very excited to have this guest speaker/performer. Some of the kids even asked for Mr. Stokes’ autograph afterwards. |

News from Ms. Craddock’s and Ms. Spencer’s class And Ms. Moore’s and Ms. Davenport’s class
The kindergartners have been studying seasonal changes & fire safety. The Farmville Fire Dept came out and shared information on what to do if there was ever an emergency. We now know that we all need an escape plan for our homes, how to call 911 & to stop, drop & roll if we ever catch on fire. We got to see the fire trucks and have our picture taken with Sparky the fire dog!
