Don’t forget to send in your donation for the H. B. Sugg PTA  Playground Project.  Just a reminder, the playground system currently located at the rear of the school belongs to the Pre-K program that is housed at H. B. Sugg Elementary School.  The K-2 students do not have a playground system of their own.  Let’s work together to help our kids to have fun while staying healthy and active!

Reading Is Fundamental is a federally-funded program held three times during the school year that encourages reading in school-aged children.  Students at H.B. Sugg recently participated in RIF Week, themed “Birds of a Feather Read Together”.  Students participated in theme-related activities throughout the week with each student receiving a free book at the end of the week.  Shown are students from Ms. Langston’s first-grade class receiving their free RIF book as RIF volunteer Ms. Ann Cleveland assists.

The students also were told of ways to give their families the knowledge necessary to identify potential risks in the home and be prepared if an emergency should occur. Sugg’s Second Grade Sensation

The Second Grade Students, under the direction of Mr. Ken Smith, delivered a sensational performance at H. B. Sugg on Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday night.  The theme for the musical program was “Folk Songs Around the World.” The students learned songs from Spain, Thailand and Hawaii while the 2nd Grade chorus also performed holiday songs for the wonderful concert. What an awesome job!
