H. B. Sugg Elementary School is committed to providing our students with a strong, educational foundation so that they may become productive, contributing, literate members of our community.
Our Philosophy
At H. B. Sugg Elementary School:
¨ We advocate a flexible curriculum striving to give students every opportunity to grow intellectually, spiritually, physically, emotionally, and socially. ¨ We strive to develop an awareness in each child of his potential and to provide each child with the basic skills needed to assume a democratically responsible and fulfilling place in our changing society. ¨ Our program is a continuous process through which we strive to meet the individual needs of the child, foster creativity, and promote greater understanding of his/her environment. ¨ The faculty of H. B. Sugg Elementary School, in cooperation with parents and community members, strive to achieve our mission above. |

Dear Parents, In support of the Farmville Area American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, H. B. Sugg is asking for your support of some upcoming fundraising activities: Crazy Hat Day will be held on Friday, February 5th. A $1.00 donation will allow your child to wear a hat to school. Favorite Sports Team Day will be held on Friday, February, 26th. A $1.00 donation will allow your child to wear his/her favorite sports team apparel to school. Inside/Out Day will be held on Friday, March 12th. A $1.00 donation will allow your child to wear his/her clothing inside/out. Uniforms will be optional on this day. Our final fundraiser will be held April 12th – 16th. We will have a penny war competition between the grade levels. Students are asked to bring in pennies to fill up their respective grade level jar. The winning grade level will receive a special snack. *Please keep in mind there is a Kids’ Walk on Saturday, May 9th, 2010. This will be held at the Relay for Life site at the Farmville Central High School track/football field. For a $10.00 donation your child will receive a Relay for Life T-shirt and the opportunity to participate in the walk.
