South Greenville Parents and Students,

As the new principal of South Greenville Elementary School, it is my pleasure to welcome you to South Greenville Elementary—a great place to learn and be.  We the staff and faculty members are excited about the upcoming school year.  Over the summer, we attended staff development opportunities, planned, and worked together to put the wheels in motion for a great year.  We received wonderful news regarding our EOG Math Test results.  Our school has met high growth for two years in a row.  This is a true testament as to how hard and dedicated our students and teachers work.  Our theme is “Together Everyone Achieves More.”  We have adopted the TEAM concept. 

We encourage each of you to attend our Open House and meet your child’s teacher.  The teacher will have vital information to distribute and information regarding opportunities that you can volunteer.  It is imperative that we work together.  This will help to maximize student achievement and build great working relationship.  In addition, the South Greenville PTA Board will also be here to provide information about membership and ways to support the mission. 

In the first days of school, the students will receive many items from their teachers to bring home to you for review and discussion (e.g., Student/Parent Handbook, Student Code of Conduct, Contact Information sheet, In Case of Emergency Info).  Some of this material will need to be completed and returned to the teacher in a timely manner.  In the Student/Parent Handbook, there have been some changes made this school year regarding tardies and other procedures that are highlighted.  Please review and discuss the handbook with your child.  Also, each student will receive a Student Code of Conduct that highlights the rules and consequences of student behavior.  We firmly believe that it is important that all students will maximize achievement when they are present for the full day and follow the rules and procedures.
