This staff will present information to the students to help them understand what their department covers in the health care system in this large hospital serving over a million patients per year. Students will have a chance to ask questions and to view separate tables. The trauma center, birthing center, surgery, and physical therapy are just a few health careers that have been represented in the past.
SGA NEWS
The Grifton School Student Government Association chose, as one of its service projects this year, to help the Galveston, TX school district's Project HEART (Helping Everyone Achieve Recovery Together). This was to help students and their families get back on their feet after the devastation of Hurricane Ike. Our students were very young when Eastern NC experienced Hurricanes Dennis and Floyd, but they have heard the stories of how communities around the US came to our aid. They were especially impressed with how schools around the nation sent Grifton School student backpacks and classroom supplies. That is why they wanted to help another school system in need.
At the Fall Bash dance sponsored by the SGA, middle school students paid a $1 admission. The SGA took the $70 raised and matched it to send a total of $140 to Galveston.
