    MAKEUP SESSIONS 2009/10

1st Semester

Farmville Central High School offers opportunities for students to make-up instructional time and missed class assignments in cases where students have exceeded more than SEVEN absences in a particular course.  The student must have accumulated more than seven (7) absences, but not beyond fifteen (15) absences in order to attend make-up sessions during the semester.  Students attending make-up sessions are responsible for providing their own transportation.

Attending a Make-Up Session Requires a Student to:

  • Be passing the course for the semester at the time he/she plans to attend a make-up session;
  • Have missed the class eight or more absences, but not in excess of fifteen (15) absences;
  • Go to the teacher of the class he/she plans to make-up and request an Assignment Sheet;
  • Ask the teacher, one week prior to the planned make-up session, to complete the Assignment Sheet and to submit the completed Assignment Sheet to the designated location in the main office;
  • Attend the scheduled make-up session and complete the assignments provided by the teacher.

 Details Concerning Make-Up Sessions:

  • All make-up sessions will meet in the CHOICE ROOM;
  • Each student must attend the entire 180-minutess (3 hours) make-up session in order to make up one class period – no partial attendance credit will be given;
  • Work must be provided for the student by the teacher;
  • Students will not be admitted late to the make-up session and will not be permitted to leave the session early;
  • Students who talk, do not follow instructions, or fail to complete assignments will be asked to leave and will not receive credit for the session.

  • REQUESTS FOR WAIVER OF ANY ABSENCES MUST BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING TO THE PRINCIPAL BY 4:00 P.M. ON JANUARY 8, 2010
  • WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE WAIVER OF ABSENCES
  • PRINCIPAL WILL MAKE FINAL SCHOOL LEVEL DECISION REGARDING WAIVER OF ABSENCES
