| Circulation Policy | ||

| Students are allowed to check out books as long as they do not have any items that are lost, damaged, and/or overdue. Books are loaned to students for 14 days but may be renewed up to 3 times. | ||

| If books are returned damaged or are lost, a fine will be charged and students' circulation privelages will be suspended until the debt is paid in full. Fines will be determined by the amount of damage and/or replacement cost of the book. Overdue slips will periodically be printed out and sent home with students. | ||

| The number of items a student may have checked out at one time is determined by their grade level. | ||

| Kindergarten: 1 Book | ||
| 1st-2nd Grade: 2 Books | ||
| 3rd-5th Grade: 3 Books | ||
| |
||
| Reference books can not be checked out by students and only one audio cassette or CD can be checked out at one time. | ||

| The Falkland Elementary Media Center is dedicated to designing and maintaining a library media program that supports, complements and expands the instructional program. Our learning environment promotes inquiry, stimulates intellectual curiosity, encourages pleasure reading and helps to develop diverse interests for the enjoyment of life-long learning. The Media Center provides access to and promotes the use of multi-media resources that are designed to meet the varying needs of all learners. Our collections will be chosen with care to reflect the needs of all students and staff. Our collection will strive to provide quality resources in all formats in order to enhance classroom experiences and stimulate the development of a lifelong love and appreciation of reading and learning. Additionally, the Media Center provides and promotes instruction that helps the user to identify, acquire, use, analyze, interpret, and evaluate its resources. | ||
