Friends of Elmhurst Library Give a gift that can be opened time and time again!
Why should you join? It’s a great way to honor special occasions (Ex: student birthdays, teacher birthdays, birth of a new family member). It’s a great way to honor special people (Ex: teachers, grandparents). It’s a great way to remember special people or pets.(Ex: in memory of Grandma; in memory of Baxter). It’s a great way to help our library collection continue to grow. It’s a great way to promote literacy. It’s a great gift for your child to share with future Elmhurst Bears for many years.
How does it work? Donate $20 to the Elmhurst Media Center. When the donation is received, your child will be called down to the media center to choose a book from the new book collection. These are books are chosen by Ms. O’Rear. Once this book is donated it will be available for checkout. If you have a special title in mind that you would like to donate that is not included in our new book collection, please contact Ms. O’Rear in the media center. Your child will be the first student to check out this book. A picture of your child will be taken with the book that he/she chooses and placed on our Friends of the Library display. A permanent bookplate inscribed with your child’s name and any other specified inscription will be placed on the inside cover of the book. A special sticker will be placed on the spine of the book denoting that it is one of our Friends of the Library books. A Friends of the Library bookmark will be given to your child as a thank you for his/her membership. A party will be hosted in the media center at the end of the year for all members.
How do you join? Print and fill out the form and send it back to your child’s teacher. Make your $20 donation check payable to Elmhurst Elementary School. |

This program has been a HUGE success. 25 new wonderful titles have been donated so far. Hopefully this is just the beginning. Thanks for all the support!
