Hello my name is John Williams. I am the Physical Education teacher at Ayden Elementary School. This is a rural K-4 school with approx. 600 students. I have been teaching over twenty-seven years. I have taught at three other schools in the county, worked with and helped teach some undergraduate courses at East Carolina University and have coached Football, Wrestling, Track, Gymnastics and Girl's softball. I also refereed Wrestling for thirteen years.
Along with teaching Phys. Ed. I am on the School Improvement Team and The Technology Committee. I am also the First Responder for emergencies, a Certified CPR Instructor, the schools Sys-op, webmaster, and IMS person. I teach evening classes in computer technology for the Continuing Education Division and Human Resources and Development at Pitt Community College. I teach computer workshops for physical educators and other teachers in Pitt County. I have worked with Kymm Ballard of the NCDPI as a technolgy consultant and gave workshops to physical educators from around the state.
In my spare time I am on the BP advisory board at PE Central. I am a section editor and writer for PELINKS4U and have written for the Sport History Academy section of NASPE.
I graduated from High School at Lake Taylor in Norfolk, Va.. Then I went to East Carolina University in Greenville,NC. on a Football and Wrestling Scholarship and graduated with a B.S. degree in Health and Physical Education.
I am married and have been to the same wonderful woman for over twentyfive years. We have a wonderful daughter Ashley who is an honor roll student, a good athlete and enrolled at East Carolina University majoring in Graphic Design.
